STATUS:
Pangea Design Group was involved in the masterplan, architecture and interior design of Mila Mina, a hotel located on Nosy Be, off the north-west coast of Madagascar. Set along a pristine coastline, the project celebrates traditional Malagasy architecture through a contemporary hospitality approach. Thatched roofs, crafted timber details and elaborate carpentry echo the island’s cultural heritage, while natural materials such as timber, metal, stone, breeze blocks and textured fabrics create a warm, tactile connection to the landscape. The hotel experience is shaped around barefoot luxury: relaxed, refined and deeply connected to nature. From the ocean-facing pool to the serene spa and the Harona restaurant, inspired by Madagascar’s red earth, each space blends local character with modern comfort. The scope included the masterplan, hotel architecture, reception areas, guestrooms, Presidential Villa, buffet, speciality dining, spa and business centre.
