STATUS:
Efolia is a residential development conceived as a quiet response to its landscape, where architecture is shaped by topography, vegetation and views. The project brings together 26 apartments and 2 duplexes, carefully positioned to frame the silhouette of Le Pouce mountain while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding greenery. The design approach prioritises integration over imposition. The building footprint and layout were developed to preserve a maximum of existing trees, allowing the project to sit naturally within its site. This relationship with the landscape is further expressed through the architectural language—pitched roofs echo the contours of the Moka mountain range, reinforcing a dialogue between built form and natural horizon.Materiality plays a central role in anchoring the project within its context. Timber and stone are used throughout to introduce warmth, texture and durability, while complementing the earthy tones of the environment. These choices contribute to a restrained and cohesive aesthetic, where architecture enhances rather than competes with its surroundings.Spatially, the apartments are designed to maximise light, ventilation and views, offering a balance between openness and privacy. Outdoor spaces extend the living areas, reinforcing a seamless indoor-outdoor experience aligned with the local lifestyle.Efolia reflects a measured approach to residential design—where environmental sensitivity, material honesty and contextual awareness come together to create a living environment that is both contemporary and rooted in place.
